AYN Thor Preorder Decision
After staring at AYN Thor preorder pages for hours—with a calculator in one hand and my credit card statement in the other—I finally made my decision. But getting there involved the kind of deep research that would make a PhD student proud.
Model Breakdown
The Thor comes in four models, spanning from 400 to 800, each targeting different gaming needs and budgets. Here’s a quick overview:
- Lite: The Snapdragon 865 in the Lite handles DS/3DS perfectly but struggles with Wii U.
- Base: The 8 Gen 2 in higher models changes everything.
- Pro: The Pro model comes with 12GB RAM. Is it worth it over the Base’s 8GB?
- Max: Does anyone actually need the Max’s 16GB and 1TB storage?
I already own an Odin2 Portal Max for heavy lifting, so this decision wasn’t about raw power; it was about finding the perfect dual-screen gaming companion without buyer’s remorse or surviving on instant noodles for three months.
Preorder Information
AYN Thor will officially open for preorders on August 25 at 9:30 PM CST (Monday) / August 26 at 9:30 AM Beijing Time.
